About Teens and Adults
As a family of like-minded believers, we gather every Sunday for worship. God’s Word is presented in songs, readings and a sermon. This is an essential part of our Christian faith and life. We pray that everyone gathered for worship is comforted, enriched, strengthened and encouraged to live to God’s glory.
The Lord’s Supper
We regularly offer the Gospel in the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the second and last Sundays of the month.
Sunday Bible Class
We gather to study God’s Word before the worship service every Sunday during the school months of the year. The Sunday Bible Class addresses topics, follows a book of the Bible, or observes an event of the year. It is an informal atmosphere where no one is made to feel uncomfortable.
Bible Information Class
This class is offered at various times during the year. It presents an overview of God’s teachings from the Bible. It is a good review for those who have studied the Bible in the past, as well as a good place to begin Bible studies. Although there is no obligation, a person may become eligible for membership in our church upon completion of this course.
Our pastor welcomes anyone who would like counseling from God’s Word. Couples about to be married, couples working through the difficulties of marriage and parenting, individuals going through difficult times and families who want help are all invited to speak confidentially with our pastor, who will share God’s truth and strength with them.
For those who like to sing, we have a choir that frequently sings for our regular worship services and on special occasions. Rehearsals are held in the church on Wednesday evenings. Watch the monthly calendar and Sunday bulletins for rehearsal times.
St. John’s schedules regular opportunities to enjoy one another’s company and fellowship. We celebrate holidays, enjoy potlucks and many other things.
Ladies Mission Circle
The women of our congregation meet regularly for fellowship and are organized for many different acts of service within our church. They support mission endeavors, prepare God’s house for worship, prepare dinners and much more.
Following Christ’s commission for his Church, we work to bring the Good News of the Savior to people all around the world. We do this work locally through the outreach programs established within our congregation. We also do this in our nation and overseas by supporting
WELS mission work with our prayers and offerings. Our prayer is that God would use each of us to tell the Good News to people in our life!
Opportunities To Serve
Carrying out Christ’s mission for the Church is the privilege and responsibility of all members. We encourage one another to use our God-given abilities to His glory and for the good of others. A few examples of such opportunities we have are: Sunday School and VBS teacher or helper, musical accompaniment, ushering, altar committee, serving for potlucks, visiting the sick and shut-in, and many more.
There are times in a Christian’s life when he or she needs personal treatment with God’s Word. Since a pastor is someone who is called to serve with God’s Word, our pastor is just a phone call away. When we are sick, in the hospital or unable to get to church, he will bring God’s strength through the Word and in the Lord’s Supper.
